From sparring to strategy – Coreyhtiöt built its own value network
Coreyhtiot is a nationwide renovation construction expert that carries out diverse construction projects in different parts of Finland. As the company grew, it became clear that operations needed to be developed more systematically and the strategy put into practice in a way that would support long-term growth.
– We had a good work ethic, but we realized that we needed a clearer direction. We wanted to get rid of purely reactive activities and ensure that development is controlled, says CEO Jukka Puumalainen.
Core companies decided to collaborate with Kristian Karimo of Arvoverkok and the process started with a comprehensive self-assessment of the business.
“Kristian didn’t just tell us what to do, he challenged our thinking and helped us find the best solutions ourselves,” Jukka describes.
One of the most significant benefits was implementing the strategy in everyday life, which was made concrete with the help of SuperExcel.
“Now we have a clear toolbox from which we can see at a glance where we are going and what needs to be developed next.
Another great benefit was the constant sparring, which provided a valuable external perspective on decision-making.
“Kristian didn’t just come to make a report, he constantly challenged us to justify our choices and think about things from a new angle. That was perhaps the most important insight for us, Jukka states.
Through the cooperation, Coreyhtiöt gained access to, among other things, a strategy map, a competence mapping, a risk management plan and market analyses, which now make the company's development work systematic and goal-oriented.
- Without this process, we would have spent much more time finding the right solutions. Now we have a clear path forward - we are not just reacting, but leading our own development.
Although the first development phase is complete, Coreyhtiöt does not intend to stay put.
- This was not a one-off project, but a journey that we want to continue. We now have a strong foundation, and I look forward to how we can take things even further together, Jukka sums up.
